GDF Suez Officially Becomes Engie

At an extraordinary general meeting on Wednesday, shareholders of GDF Suez agreed to changing the company's corporate name to Engie. In April, the group adopted Engie as its brand identity, but shares on the stock market continued to be listed as GDF Suez as a change of its legal name requires shareholder approval in France (IOD Apr.27'15). Once markets open this Friday, the stock exchange listing will finally become Engie. Renaming of subsidiaries, including upstream ones, in overseas jurisdictions may take longer.
