Surgical pearl: 2-Octyl-cyanoacrylate for transferring suction-induced epidermal grafts

Epidermal grafting can be a useful method for treating vitiliginous lesions. An epidermal graft is produced using various types of suction devices. However, transferring the graft from the donor site to the recipient site is difficult and time-consuming. To solve this problem, the author has devised a technique using 2-octyl-cyanoacrylate (Fevi Kwik) to firm and uncurl the epidermis during the procedure. This method was used in 3 patients and did not affect the viability of epidermal melanocytes and, hence, the incidence of repigmentation at the treated sites. Thus, it was found to be an effective simple technique for transferring epidermal grafts from donor sites and patching them onto recipient sites.
