Eni reported a net loss of ?2.34 billion ($2.7 billion) for the fourth quarter as lower oil prices hurt profits at its upstream business and resulted in a ?1.94 billion impairment charge to write down some of its assets. But the Italian major upped its dividend and reported higher oil and gas production, providing some reassurance to investors concerned about how it would fare under low prices.
