Moscow, Kiev Spar on Gas Price

With only two days left before the new year begins, Moscow and Kiev are still struggling to agree on the price of gas supplies in the first quarter of 2016. There shouldn't be any immediate threat to the security of gas transit supplies to Europe, however, since Ukraine has gas in storage to ensure uninterrupted supplies in January. As of Monday it had 14.3 Bcm in storage, down by 1.9 Bcm since the beginning of December, according to data from gas transportation company Ukrtransgaz.
