With Gas Demand Uncertain, Kogas Becomes LNG Seller

State Korea Gas (Kogas) has signed a capacity and optimization agreement with EDF Trading that would turn one of the world's largest LNG buyers into a seller of LNG sourced from its global portfolio. The exact LNG supply source was not specified in the announcement, but it is expected to come from the third train of US Cheniere's Sabine Pass terminal in Louisiana. Kogas is slated to take 3.5 million tons per year starting in 2017 and lasting for 20 years. France's Total will buy 0.7 million tons/yr of those volumes (IOD Jan.31'12).
