Oman Eyes Stake in India LNG Terminal

Oman is mulling buying a minority stake in Petronet LNG's upcoming 5 million ton LNG terminal at Gangavaram on India's east coast, the country's oil minister said on Wednesday. "The government is keen to have more links with Indian friends," Mohammed bin Hamad al Rumhi told reporters after delivering a speech at Petronet's foundation day event in New Delhi. "Petronet has proved the economic benefits and profitability of terminal business. The track record so far is very attractive. We are in the gas business and want to expand it. So there is a lot of synergy here."
