Partners in the offshore Israeli Tamar field have signed a potential gas export deal with Egypt's Dolphinus Holdings, which builds on another agreement with Union Fenosa Gas (UFG) (IOD May7'14). On Oct. 17, Tamar partners US Noble Energy and Delek Group signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Dolphinus to supply a minimum of 5 Bcm of natural gas over a three-year period on an interruptible basis, subject to the demands of the Israeli domestic market where the bulk of Tamar's 10 Tcf of gas is allocated. In May, UFG and the partners signed an LOI to supply 2.5 Tcf of natural gas over a 15-year period. UFG is a 50-50 joint venture between Spain's Gas Natural and Italy's Eni.
