Rosneft, Gazprom Vie for Onshore Fields

Already rivals for Russia's offshore Arctic riches, state giants Rosneft and Gazprom are now competing for onshore fields in the country's oil- and- gas-rich Nenets region. Sources told International Oil Daily that Russia's Natural Resources Minister Sergei Donskoi held a special meeting last week to discuss the competition for the Vaneyvisskoye and Layavozhskoye fields in Nenets with officials from both Rosneft and Gazprom.
