Rosneft Proceeds With Gas Developments

Russia's state - controlled Rosneft said Friday that it had started development in the deeper Achimov formations in the Yamal - Nenets autonomous district, as the company moves ahead with its gas plans. Rosneft said development of the Achimov layers started at the Vostochno - Urengoysky (East Urengoysky) field belonging to its Rospan gas unit, which the company inherited from TNK - BP. The formations harbor some 60 billion cubic meters of proved gas and condensate reserves, but have a very complex geological structure.
