Iraq's Kar Group has been selected to build a refinery and power plant by Nineveh's provincial council, Ali Mahmood, spokesman for Nineveh Governor Atheel al-Nujaifi, tells International Oil Daily. But thus far no contract has been awarded, he added. Turkey's Calik Energy had also expressed interest in the project (IOD Jan.14'14).
