Gasol Cote d'Ivoire Deal Scrapped

UK-listed Gasol is unable to proceed with its acquisition of a 12% stake in Cote d'Ivoire's gas-producing Block CI-27 as existing partners in the block have exercised their preemption rights on the deal, Gasol said on Wednesday. Gasol signed a conditional agreement with Paris-based GDF Suez last December to acquire its subsidiary, Energie de Cote d'Ivoire (Enerci), holder of a 12% stake in the block. The remaining interests are held by Foxtrot International, Saur Energie Cote d'Ivoire and state Petroci.
