Transneft Upbeat Despite Tariff Freeze

Despite the recent government decision to freeze crude shipping tariffs for 2014 at their current level, Russian pipeline monopoly Transneft says it will continue with its key projects and still be able to launch some of them ahead of schedule. Speaking to journalists on Monday at a press conference in Moscow, Transneft boss Nikolai Tokarev said the company's final investment program approved out to 2020 envisages spending of some 360 billion rubles ($10.8 billion) on crude oil pipelines and another 180 billion rubles on product pipelines. Of the total, some 460 billion-480 billion rubles would be allocated for the construction of new pipelines.
