Thailand has offered 29 blocks spanning over 66,000 sq km under its 21st Petroleum Bidding Round amid sharply falling oil prices and concerns about the country's gas supplies. Seventeen blocks lie in the Khorat plateau of northeastern Thailand, according to data released by the energy ministry at the 2014 International Petroleum Technology Conference in Kuala Lumpur. The region is home to the Nam Phong and The Sin Phu Horm gas fields, which hold estimated proven recoverable resources of 1.7 Tcf.
