Ophir Confirms Proposed Offer for Salamander

UK independent Ophir Energy on Monday confirmed that it has sent a letter to Southeast Asia-focused Salamander Energy proposing the terms of a possible share exchange offer for the entire issued -- and to be issued -- share capital of the company (IOD Oct.28'14). Ophir says it is in ongoing discussions with Salamander and believes there is compelling strategic logic for a merger of the two companies.
