Genel Strikes Oil in Morocco

Anglo-Turkish Genel Energy has found oil deposits at its JM-1 well offshore Morocco, one of several offshore wells planned for this year in the kingdom (IOD Oct.16'13). The well, spudded in January, confirmed the presence of oil in the Upper Jurassic layer, a Genel spokesman told International Oil Daily. Drilling continues on the prospect, targeting the Middle Jurassic layer, he said, and the well will be tested later for an oil flow rate.
