Uruguay Awards LNG Deal to GDF Suez

Uruguay has awarded a contract to France's GDF Suez for the construction of a floating LNG regasification terminal on the coast west of Montevideo, which may also supply gas to neighboring countries. Officials said on Tuesday that the facility, which carries a $1.125 billion price tag including the cost of pipeline connections and other associated infrastructure work, would begin operations in March 2015.
