Taqa Posts Loss on Lower Output, Faces Delay in Kurdistan

Abu Dhabi National Energy Co. (Taqa) reported a net loss for the first half of the year, as the state-backed firm's oil and gas business took a hit as a result of lower global production. Reduced output in the UK's North Sea -- and unplanned outages at two power plants -- were the main factors behind the weak result, which included a 4% decline in revenue to 11.3 billion UAE dirhams ($3.08 billion) for the first half of 2013, Taqa said on Wednesday.
