Shell Pushes for 1 Million b/d Majnoon Target

Shell is facing tough challenges at its Majnoon field development project in Iraq's Basrah province. After a delayed start-up, which prompted a letter of complaint from the oil ministry accusing it of depriving Iraq of billions of dollars in revenues, the Anglo-Dutch major has also run into opposition over its proposals to lower Majnoon's 1.8 million barrel per day plateau production target.
