PTTEP Makes Algerian Find

Thailand’s state PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP) has struck crude and gas in its first exploration well drilled in Algeria. The well in the Hassi Bir Rekaiz Block hit some 1,000 b/d of crude oil flow and 300 Mcf/d of natural gas, the firm said in a statement last week. “PTTEP and its partners plan to drill more exploration and appraisal wells to confirm the extent of the petroleum reserves in the area,” the statement read.
