Rosneft Buys East Siberian Producer for JV With CNPC

State-controlled Rosneft said Tuesday it has completed a deal to consolidate 100% of Taas-Yuryakh Neftegasdobycha, an E&P company that might form the basis for the Russian firm's future joint venture with China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC). Insiders, however, say that both sides are still negotiating terms of the possible deal and are not likely to make an announcement during Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev's planned visit to China next week.
