RWE Enters West of Shetland Project

RWE-Dea is farming into UK West of Shetlands acreage, just weeks after the entire business was put up for sale by its German utility parent RWE (IOD Mar.6’13). Valiant Petroleum is to farm out 20% equity in its Handcross prospect, covering part-blocks 204/18b, 204/14c and 204/19c, to RWE. Upon completion, operator Valiant’s share will be 70% and partner Sussex Energy 10%. The Stena Carron drill rig has already been contracted to drill a first well, now expected to spud during the final quarter of 2013.
