Pemex Reports Major Gas Discovery in Gulf of Mexico

Mexico’s state-owned oil and gas producer Pemex has announced the discovery of what it calls a major new gas province in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. The firm said the discovery, in the Catemaco Fold Belt, comprises five wet gas fields. Pemex has estimated total proven, probable and possible (3P) reserves from the find at between 1.5 trillion to 2 trillion cubic feet of gas.
