China Plans Shale Bid Round for July

China plans to launch its second bid round for shale blocks in July, according to a senior official from the Ministry of Land and Resources (MLR). “More than 70 companies have so far applied to participate in the bid round, of which one-third are local private firms. There will be even more companies during the actual bidding,” Zhang Dawei, director of MLR’s strategic research department, told local reporters.
