Growth in Unconventionals Set to Spread Globally: Schlumberger

Unconventional oil and gas is poised for strong growth outside the US in 2012, particularly in China and Argentina, the head of the world’s largest oil-field services company said on Friday. Schlumberger Chief Executive Paal Kibsgaard said the firm’s unconventional oil and gas activity in China, Argentina, Poland and the Middle East — some of the most promising areas outside the US — had grown more quickly than expected in 2011, with the momentum carrying through into 2012.
