IMF Warns of Oil Price Risk To Mideast Exporters

Oil exporting countries in the Middle East and North Africa were mostly isolated from economic troubles last year but still face risk from large swings in oil prices, Masood Ahmed, the director of the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) Middle East and Central Asia Department, said at a presentation in Dubai Wednesday. "They've been able to shrug off the global slowdown from last year," he said, citing "continued spending that's fueled activity outside the oil sector.
