Australia’s Dart Energy will acquire 22 onshore unconventional gas licenses in the UK from fellow coalbed methane (CBM) firm Greenpark Energy. Dart will pay A$42 million ($42.7 million) in cash and shares for the assets, the firm said in a statement Wednesday. Greenpark holds a 100% interest in most of the licenses, and operates all of them. The assets are “substantially complementary” to Dart’s existing acreage position in the UK, Dart said. The Australian firm also secured an option for Greenpark’s CBM and shale gas licenses in Poland and Spain.
