Gazprom Makes Siberia Strike

Russia's Gazprom said Monday it had made a commercial gas find in the first exploration well spudded in the Ilbokich- sky Block in the Irkutsk region of East Siberia. The well flowed at 300 MMcm/d, according to local producer Gazprom Dobycha Krasnoyarsk, which won the li- cense for the block in 2008. Gazprom earlier put the block's reserves at 102.43 Bcm of gas and 16.814 million tons (123 million bbl) of oil. Surveys and explo- ration drilling will continue over the next four years.
