EIB Mulls German Wind Loan

The European Investment Bank (EIB) isconsidering lending Germany’s WPD ?450million ($615 million) to help finance a288 MW offshore wind farm in the Ger-man sector of the North Sea. Total projectcosts are put at ?1.29 billion, so the loanwould cover roughly one-third of theamount needed to build the 80-turbinewind farm at Butendiek, 53 km offshorenear the Danish maritime border.
