MARKET EYE: Asia Middle Distillates Seen Outperforming

A range of factors -including stagnant growth in Western economies, potential power demand and diesel shortages in China, India and the Middle East and refinery outages and reconstruction work in Japan -could help Asia-Pacific middle distillates outperform the rest of the barrel this summer, analysts forecast. Weaker manufacturing and industrial activity is expected globally, but could hit the US and Europe harder than emerging markets in Asia.
