China's crude imports last month rose 2.9% to 5.12 million b/d, according to customs data released Thursday. This brings yearto-date imports to an average of 5.16 million b/d, a whopping 11.9% higher than the same period last year. Opec kingpin Saudi Arabia has so far boosted exports to China by over 28% year-on-year to more than 1 million b/d. Despite the turmoil in the Mideast, volumes from the region to China have so far risen over 20% year-on-year to 2.52 million b/d. However, China did not receive imports from Yemen last month, the first time this has happened since August last year. .
