Golar LNG will build two extra 160,000 cubic meter LNG carriers with South Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries, the LNG shipper said Wednesday. This is in addition to four other tankers - of similar capacity and costing $800 million in total - which the firms announced in a deal on Apr. 12 (IOD Apr.13,p9). The two latest vessels will cost about $400 million, and are slated for delivery in 2013 and 2014. Golar has the option to add further capacity, ice strengthening and winterization, as well as regasification equipment.
