Transneft Completes Espo-2

Russian pipeline monopoly Transneft announced Friday the completion of line work for the second phase of the strategic East Siberia–Pacific Ocean (Espo) pipeline, designed to diversify Russian crude exports by entering Asia-Pacific oil markets. Transneft said the "golden joint" of the Espo-2 line, running from Skovorodino, the end point of Espo's first phase, to the Pacific port of Kozmino, was welded in the Primorsk region on Friday. Transneft now has to finish testing the pumping stations along the route and fine-tune the work of other surface facilities.
