UK Projects Apply for EU Funds

The UK said Tuesday that 12 project applications have been submitted to the European Investment Bank (EIB) for possible funding from an EU program designed to finance eigh commercial-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) and 34 renewable schemes across Europe. The projects hope to receive cash from the EU's New Entrant Reserve (NER300) scheme, a fund financed by the sale of 300 million EU carbon permits, which could be worth around ?4.5 billion ($6 billion).
