India, Qatar Still at Odds Over LNG Price

Qatar agreed in principle on Friday to supply India with up to 4 million tons per year of additional LNG on long-term deals, but price remains a major sticking point. Petronet LNG, India's biggest LNG im- porter, has been seeking up to 3 million tons/yr over and above its contracted 7.5 million tons/yr from Rasgas, while state gas utility Gail (India) is looking for 1 million tons annually on a long-term contract run- ning for up to 20-25 years.
