摘要

A UK energy minister admitted on Tuesday that investment is falling well short of the billions of dollars needed if the country is to meet its target of generating at least 35% of its electricity from low-to-zero carbon emissions sources by 2020, up from roughly 7% now. If the green goals are to be met, UK Minister of State for Energy Charles Hendry said £110 billion ($180 billion) is required in power generation and infrastructure upgrading by 2020, and £200 billion by 2025. But right now, he told a London energy conference, "We are not seeing anywhere near enough investment to hit our renewable targets."
