Transocean Sues BP

Transocean, which owned the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig, has asked a federal judge to order BP to cover a variety of its damages and other costs arising from last year's oil spill disaster in the US Gulf of Mexico. In a filing with the US District Court in New Orleans, Transocean said BP must in- demnify it for damages arising from the lat- ter's failure to contain the flow of oil from its Macondo well in the Gulf of Mexico, regard- less of who was negligent or else at fault.
