Monodisperse gold nanoparticles made in our lab can be used for high magnification calibration of transmission electron microscope (TEM), providing the clear lattice image, good stability and image contrast. TEM was adjusted to focus on gold nanoparticle lattice structures, and the lattice spacings were determined by the measure tool of Adobe Photoshop 6.0 software. Experimental data were compared to known ones to determine if TEM requires fine adjustment after such calibration.
