UK independent Bowleven announced it had encountered more hydrocarbon- bearing pay at the Sapele-1 exploration well in the Douala Basin offshore Cameroon in West Africa. Bowleven has been targeting multiple stacked targets with its drill program on the Etinde permit and plans to drill on from Sapele's current total depth of 4,539 meters. It has increased its oil-in-place es- timates for the earlier Deep Omicron dis- covery to a range of 56 million bbl (P90) to 439 million bbl (P10).
