Uzbekistan and China have inked a “firm contract” on Uzbek natural gas supplies via a Central Asia-China gas pipeline network, Russian Prime news agency reported Monday citing an Uzbek official. The agreement, signed by Uztransgas, a subsidiary of state oil and gas company Uzbekneftegas, and PetroChina, part of China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC), envisages Uzbek gas supplies to China under “current international gas prices,” the official was quoted as saying. He refused to provide any details on the volumes of the supplies or the contract’s timing, saying only that the parties have also agreed on the deliveries’ dispatching.
