As tens of thousands of Egyptians gath- ered in Cairo on Monday for a seventh day of protests, oil and gas production was said to be continuing as normal, and no disruption to oil shipments had been re- ported via the Suez Canal or Sumed pipeline, which together pump more than 2 million barrels per day from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean.
