Gazprom Opens Qatar Office

Russia's Gazprom has opened a represen- tative office in the Qatari capital Doha, but has yet to name a head for the office, Russian news agency RIA-Novosti said Tuesday. The move follows talks last November between Qatar and Russia - both leading gas ex- porters and members of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) - at which they agreed to boost cooperation (IOD Nov.4,p9).
