Uzbekistan plans to spend $123 millionthrough 2012 on a project to use associat-ed gas from 10 oil fields in the southernKashkadarya region, Russia’s Prime newsagency quoted state Uzbekneftegas as say-ing on Thursday. The project will involvebuilding two associated treatment facilitiescapable of using 1.14 Bcm/yr of gas. Feasi-bility studies have already been done,Uzbekneftegas said, and talks with equip-ment supplies will be wrapped up by theend of the year. The company said it willspend $45 million of its own money, andborrow the rest from the Uzbek Recon-struction and Development Fund and in-ternational financial institutions. Work isto start early next year.
