Kuwait will hold parliamentary elections on Feb. 2, the cabinet announced Sunday, less than two months after the emir dissolved the National Assembly in an effort to break through political deadlock, according to state news agency Kuna. The emir also swore Mohammed al-Busairi in as Kuwait’s oil minister, formalizing an appointment made last week while al-Busairi was in Vienna for the Opec meeting (IOD Dec.15’11).
