UK's Afren Says Ebok Play Offshore Nigeria Beating Expectations

UK-listed independent Afren said Thursday its key Ebok project off Nigeria's southern Niger Delta, which started up recently, is now performing ahead of expectations. The Africa-focused firm, which also has producing assets in Cote d'Ivoire, said in an interim management statement that Ebok is pumping over 17,000 barrels per day, ahead of earlier guidance the company gave in March when it anticipated around 15,000 b/d of output from the first phase of production.
