UK Approves CCGT Project

The UK government has given RWE Pow er consent to build a 2,000 megawatt gas-fired power station at Willington in Derbyshire, Northern England. The ￡1 billion ($1.63 billion) project, which includes four 500 MW combined-cy cle gas turbine (CCGT) units and four peak ing 100 MW open-cycle gas turbine (OCG units, would take three years to build once an investment decision is taken.
