Turkmenistan-focused Dragon Oil said Thursday that average oil production increased by a healthy 25% year-on-year in the first half to around 58,000 b/d and expanded its 2011 drilling plan. "With three rigs currently operating full time for Dragon Oil in the Cheleken contract area, we expect to drill and complete 12 wells, a sidetrack and a workover within the 2011 drilling program," Dragon CEO Abdul Jaleel al Khalifa said. Seven of the 11 new development wells planned initially were brought on stream in the first six months.
