The risk of offshore oil spills has again come into focus in the UK, where a Royal Dutch Shell pipeline continued to leak oil on Monday. The pipeline, which is linked to Shell's Gannet Alpha platform, has caused a "substantial" oil spill and is still spewing crude into the central UK North Sea, the UK's Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC) said.
