President Hugo Chavez floated a vague ideaon Thursday of a new global oil producers’group including Venezuela and Russia, butstressed it would not affect the Organization ofthe Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec).“The idea came to me of creating, dis-cussing, seeing if we create a new organization, in this new world that is emerging ofthe oil giants,” Chavez said in a televisionlink with oil officials from Venezuela andRussia visiting a crude block.
