Thailand reportedly hopes to kick off talks with Cambodia on the joint development of offshore oil projects in disputed areas. Newly appointed Thai Energy Minister Pichai Naripthaphan told Thai newspaper Krungthep Turakij (Bangkok Business News) that such joint investments will unlock resources, boost energy security and generate huge economic returns for both countries, Dow Jones Newswires reported Monday. He said Thai state PTT will invest in the projects if a deal is reached.
