Perenco Buys BP Wytch Farm

BP has agreed to sell its operating interests in the Wytch Farm onshore oil field in southwestern England, plus the nearby Wareham, Kimmeridge and Beacon fields, to French independent Perenco for up to $610 million in cash. The UK sale is part of BP's $30 billion post-Macondo sales program, which is expected to conclude by the end of 2011. Before the Perenco buy, BP said it had announced deals worth around $25 billion.
